Karamuğla Stream (Saburhane Section) Rehabilitation and Recreation Project

Karamuğla Stream (Saburhane Section) Rehabilitation, Integrated Infrastructure and Recreation Landscape Design Project

With the Karamuğla Stream re-arranged as an open channel together with rehabilitation and infrastructure works, the project site has been redesigned as a recreation area that works together with the channel. To the north, the historic Saburhane Mosque and its square have been redesigned with materials and design lines suited to the region, preserving their cultural and historical values.

The market area beginning to the south has been repositioned around the channel to be opened, with the aim of preserving the open-air market use that forms the memory of the area.

In the southern section, which also includes commercial uses along the main road, the market area has been combined with recreational and commercial uses through a series of cascading structures following the existing contours along the stream, transforming it into a more permeable and usable streamside recreation area.
