Izmir Meles and Arap Streams Rehabilitation, Flood Protection and Recreation Areas Landscape Design Project
As part of the engineering works for the rehabilitation and flood protection of the Meles and Arap Streams that flow into the Gulf of Izmir, this study redefines the channel systems and their relationship with the surroundings. It covers eliminating the pollution previously caused by flooding in the stream channels, reclaiming for the city the landfill area where they meet the sea, addressing the urban fabric and its relationship with the sea through scientific planning in line with contemporary design criteria, and redesigning public spaces and passing them on to the future. In this project, together with Akarsu Ltd. Şti., exemplary innovative engineering work was carried out alongside environmentally sensitive design and planning.
