Almaty Ring Road Junction Proposal
Almaty Ring Road Junction Proposal Project
Where History and Language Meet
Project Overview
At the city connection junction of the major ring road project that will strengthen Almaty's main transport network, the intention was to host an aesthetic and meaningful project symbolising the deep-rooted ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey. More than just a traffic junction, this project aims to be a work of art that showcases the historical and cultural bonds between the two countries.
Project Theme: Common Language and History
The most distinctive feature of the project is that it is designed around Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who gave great importance to Turkish language and history and founded the Turkish Language Association and the Turkish Historical Society to research them, and around the sayings "History is a bridge" and "Language is a bridge". With this understanding, the aim was to emphasise the shared historical heritage and the importance of the language uniting Kazakhstan and Turkey. At the focus of the project, the historical figure of the Great Leader Atatürk ascending Kocatepe, who holds great meaning for both countries, symbolises this bridge and monumentally represents the continuous interaction and cultural exchange between the two countries.
