Aksaray Urban Forest

Aksaray Urban Forest Landscape Design Project

The Aksaray Urban Forest Project has been designed on a large natural site located about 3.8 km from the Aksaray city centre, in the northern part of the city. The project aims to respond to the city's growing need for recreation and open space while creating a high-quality forest park that preserves the existing natural fabric.

The project site is a natural area with dense tree cover, and the preservation of the existing trees was adopted as a core principle throughout the design process. Accordingly, all functions within the park have been placed in harmony with the natural fabric, ensuring the continuity of green space and ecological balance.

The Urban Forest includes;

  • walking and cycling trails,
  • a pond area,
  • a country café,
  • children's playgrounds,
  • kiosks,
  • sports fields and related facilities

creating a versatile recreation area that appeals to all age groups.

In the southern part of the site, picnic and leisure areas reserved for quieter uses have been planned. This zone has been designed as a resting area for daily use, where residents can spend time close to nature.

With its approach of protecting natural landscape values, its variety of recreational opportunities and its proximity to the city, the Aksaray Urban Forest Project serves as an important open space and a public place that enhances the quality of life for the people of Aksaray.
